Staff and volunteers at the Bridge Drop-in Centre for the homeless people in Coventry have recorded recorded record numbers of visitors over the past few weeks.
During one three hour session some 79 disadvantaged and homeless people called at the centre in Lamb Street run by the Jesus Army.
Piers Young, manager of the Jesus Centre, which runs the drop-in, said: "When we opened the Bridge in 2002 we thought that maybe no one would come.
"In fact, just one man came on the first day and we helped him to sort his accommodation out. The second day ten came.
"But since then we've had over 43,000 visits by a total of 2,300 different people so we must be doing something right!"
