"The Jesus Centre makes me feel like a human being again."
Paul

Daniel heard about the Jesus Centre on the street. He was at rock bottom when he came, but now his confidence and belief in himself, others and Jesus is back. The Jesus Centre sorted him out a place to live. Now he's helping in the kitchen and it helps him as much as it helps others.

All welcome

The London Jesus Centre offers a personal and non judgemental approach to all who come. The Centre welcomes people from all creeds, nationalities and backgrounds without prejudice. A wide range of activities and services are being developed. These include services to practical, social and educational needs as well as encouraging spiritual life and growth.

Services include a drop-in facility for people in particular need, with provision for laundry, food, showers and so on; a skills suite with IT facilities and courses in a wide variety of subjects (for example: ESOL, Citizenship, basic life skills, arts and crafts). There will be a range of cultural, social and welfare support groups offering something for all people of ages and interests.

We expect our Tea Room to become a popular meeting place for anyone who wants a cup of tea and a chat. Indeed, one of the strengths of the project is that many of the staff themselves have experienced life on society's margins.

We have carried out extensive local research to ensure that the Jesus Centre meets real needs in the area without duplicating services already being provided by other organisations, so that we can really help people like Daniel.
