What goes on at the Sheffield Jesus Centre?Published: 5th Sep 2016
THEY say that a Stitch in Time saves nine. Join Lois and her team for a knitting and stitching group in the Parlour Café on Wednesdays from 11am – 1pm. It’s a great space for chatting and getting to know new people.
For parents with young children, Stepping Stones provides a big space for the kids to run around and play, while Harriet and a group of mums are there for support. Come along to make friends and have fun, on Fridays, 10am - 12 noon.

Lettings Space for Every Occasion

From weddings and wedding receptions, to sword fights and Hallmark of Harmony male choir practices, to belly dancing and birthday celebrations, Home start training and church services, Sheffield Jesus Centre has attractive, affordable rooms for every kind of occasion. We have enjoyed hosting a wide variety of groups at our Centre.
Some hirers take advantage of our beautiful Parlour Café as a place to relax after a busy morning of training. They may order from our regular menu or order a buffet.

THE Sheffield Jesus Centre is now in its fifth year. Over the past five years, we have had a variety of special events, including a civic opening with the Lord Mayor of Sheffield, and annual Gala Days, working with our neighbours. We also pride ourselves in hosting multi-cultural food events, like Chinese, African, Iranian and American.
This year promises to give us more opportunities to work with other agencies and organisations. This began with our fifth anniversary – we held an evening celebrating the Chinese culture. Sheffield Jesus Centre is a light, airy building, a sharp contrast to the roaring traffic outside on Hanover Way. Liz is on the front desk today and has just had a visit from a lady from the women’s hostel opposite. Liz tells me the young woman had come to the Jesus Centre and wept as Liz listened to and prayed with her.

Peace Parlour: The Sheffield Cafe

“I’M THE Café Co-ordinator. I find it such a joy working in a lovely peaceful environment with great volunteers. We have many regular customers who come into the cafe to enjoy a delicious meal in a relaxed atmosphere.
“Some of the customers give us great feedback, saying: ‘It is like heaven coming here,’ and ‘The service is very friendly’. It’s encouraging to hear, as this is our aim, to create a place that is friendly and relaxed.
