London Jesus Centre BBQ a “delicious” success!

THE Jesus Centre’s annual summer barbecue was held in the beautiful Terrace Room of the London Jesus Centre on 3rd July.

With Jon-Jon, Tim and Shane at the helm, delicious quarter pound burgers, snacks and drinks were enjoyed by visitors and volunteers alike.

Paul and Clinton, regular visitors to the drop-in and members of the Jesus Fellowship Church, summed the day up as “delicious!”

The Centre’s users were given the chance to develop their social skills and the event created greater cohesion. Visitors agreed the day was “amazing” and “relaxed”.

Vlad, a regular visitor to the drop-in, explained that he was enjoying another day at the Centre with his friends, with whom he had forged lasting friendships through visiting the Centre.

Some visitors expressed their gratitude for the support and progression they have received by visiting the Centre. Ibo said he has been “supported and empowered” by the Centre to such an extent that he has been able to help other people who have faced difficulties.

Volunteers Christian and Sam, said they enjoyed volunteering in the Centre because they benefitted from the opportunity to “meet and share with people, and hear their stories”. They described the Centre as “friendly, welcoming and warm”.
